Cookie Policy

How Lunaseed uses cookies and similar technologies on the Service.

COOKIE USE AT A GLANCE. Lunaseed uses essential session and authentication technologies to operate and secure the Service, and Google Analytics to understand website and application usage. We do not currently use marketing pixels, behavioral-advertising cookies, or session-recording tools. We do not sell personal information or use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising.

This Cookie Policy explains how Lunaseed Inc. ("Lunaseed," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on lunaseed.io, the Lunaseed application, and related online services (collectively, the "Service"). It should be read together with the Lunaseed Privacy Policy.

The Service is currently intended for business and professional users in the United States. The technologies actually used can vary depending on the page, feature, browser, device, and third-party workflow you use.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to cookies, local storage, session storage, software development kit identifiers, tags, pixels, and similar browser- or device-based technologies used on or through the Service. For convenience, this Policy refers to these technologies collectively as "Cookies."

This Policy does not control cookies or similar technologies placed on websites or hosted experiences operated independently by third parties. For example, when you are redirected to or interact with a payment provider, identity or verification provider, connected-system authorization page, or another third-party service, that provider may use its own technologies under its own privacy and cookie practices.

2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files or similar identifiers stored on or associated with a browser or device. They can help a service remember a session, authenticate a user, protect against abuse, understand how features are used, or maintain preferences. Some technologies operate only during a browser session; others may remain for a defined period or until cleared.

Cookies may be set directly by Lunaseed (first-party Cookies) or by service providers whose technology is used on or through the Service (third-party Cookies). Whether a particular provider sets a Cookie, and the exact Cookie name or duration, can depend on configuration and may change as provider technology evolves.

3. Categories of Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

3.1 Essential and Authentication Technologies

These technologies are necessary to provide core Service functionality. They may be used to authenticate users, maintain secure sessions, remember security-related state, route traffic, prevent fraud or abuse, and support account and workspace access. Disabling them can prevent login or cause parts of the Service to stop functioning.

3.2 Google Analytics

Lunaseed currently uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and usage of the website and application. Google Analytics may use Cookies or related identifiers and may receive information such as browser type, device information, approximate location derived from network information, pages or screens viewed, referral information, timestamps, and interaction events.

We use Google Analytics for measurement, product analytics, and service improvement. We do not currently use Google Analytics as part of a behavioral-advertising or cross-context advertising program. Specific Google Analytics Cookie names, identifiers, expiration periods, and technical behavior are determined by our implementation and Google's services and may change over time.

3.3 Third-Party Hosted and Embedded Workflows

Certain user-requested features may open, embed, or redirect to a third-party service, such as a payment, identity, banking, integration-authorization, or founder-verification provider. Depending on the provider and feature, that third party may place its own Cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, fraud prevention, transaction processing, consent, or operation of its service.

Examples of third-party providers Lunaseed may use for these functions include Stripe and, where the relevant feature is enabled, integration, identity, banking, or verification providers. Those providers control their own Cookie practices. A provider being used by Lunaseed does not mean its Cookies are present on every page or used for every user.

4. Technologies We Do Not Currently Use for Advertising

Lunaseed does not currently use marketing pixels, cross-site behavioral-advertising Cookies, or session-recording tools. We do not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.

If Lunaseed materially changes these practices, we will update this Policy and provide any notice, consent, opt-out, or preference controls required by applicable law before or when the changed practice begins.

5. Information Collected Through Cookies

Depending on the technology and feature, information collected through Cookies or similar technologies may include:

  • IP address and network information;
  • browser type, operating system, device type, and language;
  • session identifiers, authentication state, and security-related information;
  • pages, screens, features, and links viewed or used;
  • referring and destination pages or domains;
  • timestamps, session duration, and interaction events;
  • diagnostic, performance, reliability, and error-related information; and
  • other information generated by a third-party workflow you choose to use.

Cookie-derived information may constitute personal information under applicable law. We handle that information as described in the Lunaseed Privacy Policy.

6. How We Use Cookie Information

We may use information collected through Cookies and similar technologies to:

  • provide, authenticate, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • maintain user sessions and workspace access;
  • detect suspicious activity, fraud, abuse, and security events;
  • measure traffic, usage, feature adoption, and performance;
  • diagnose errors and improve reliability and usability;
  • understand how visitors and users navigate Lunaseed;
  • support payment, connected-system, identity, verification, and other user-requested workflows; and
  • comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, and protect rights and security.

7. Cookie Providers and Disclosure

Cookie-derived information may be processed by Lunaseed and service providers that help operate the Service. The providers involved depend on the feature. Google Analytics processes analytics information when analytics is enabled. Infrastructure, authentication, payment, verification, and connected-service providers may process information when their applicable features are used.

We do not represent that every provider receives every category of information or is present in every user session. Additional information about service providers, subprocessors, and other recipients is available in the Privacy Policy and, for customer organizations, the applicable Data Processing Addendum.

8. Your Cookie Choices

8.1 Browser and Device Controls

Most browsers allow you to view, block, delete, or restrict Cookies through browser settings. You may also be able to clear local storage or site data. The available controls vary by browser and device.

Blocking essential or authentication technologies may prevent you from signing in or using protected portions of Lunaseed.

8.2 Analytics Controls

Browser privacy settings, Cookie-blocking tools, and provider-specific controls may limit Google Analytics or related analytics technologies. These tools are controlled by the browser, device, extension, or analytics provider and may affect other websites as well as Lunaseed.

8.3 Cookie Preference Center

Lunaseed does not currently operate a separate in-product Cookie preference center. If we introduce a preference center or consent-management tool, the choices available through that tool will supplement the browser controls described above.

8.4 Do Not Track and Universal Opt-Out Signals

Some browsers provide a legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no uniform industry standard for DNT, Lunaseed does not currently respond to DNT headers as a separate control.

Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid universal opt-out preference signal, Lunaseed will honor that signal for processing to which the signal legally applies. Because Lunaseed does not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, such a signal does not change those practices today.

9. Consent Where Required

Cookie requirements differ by jurisdiction and by the purpose of the technology. Where applicable law requires affirmative consent before a non-essential Cookie or similar technology is used, Lunaseed will provide the legally required notice and choice before or when that technology is deployed.

Acceptance of Lunaseed's Terms of Service is not intended, by itself, to constitute consent to optional advertising or marketing Cookies that applicable law requires to be separately authorized.

10. Retention

Cookie and similar-technology retention varies by purpose and provider. Essential session technologies may expire when a browser session ends or after a limited period reasonably necessary for authentication and security. Analytics identifiers and third-party workflow technologies may remain for periods determined by configuration or the applicable provider.

Information collected through Cookies that is stored in Lunaseed systems is retained in accordance with the Privacy Policy. For customer data subject to Lunaseed's locked deletion framework, applicable active-system data is removed following a valid deletion request within the applicable 30-day process, general termination may include a 30-day export or recovery period followed by deletion or de-identification from active systems within 90 days, and encrypted rolling backups expire after 35 days, subject to limited lawful retention exceptions.

11. Security

Lunaseed uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information collected through the Service, including authentication controls, access restrictions, encryption protections, infrastructure security, logging, and other safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.

No browser, network, or online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their devices, browser sessions, and account credentials.

12. Changes to This Cookie Policy

Lunaseed may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the Service, analytics implementation, third-party providers, legal requirements, or our use of Cookies and similar technologies. The updated Policy will identify its effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially changing a Cookie practice that requires such notice or consent.
